BROUGHTON, Ill. -- A boil water order is in effect for several communities in Hamilton and White Counties on Wednesday.
Broughton Mayor David Essary said the order is for all of Broughton, Norris City and Dale until further notice.
Essary said to use extra caution while the boil water order is in effect.
According to the Drinking Water Branch, Essary is a representative with the Broughton Water District.
It is unknown at this time the cause behind the boil water order, however, affected residents are urged to boil their water for five minutes before use.
