WASHINGTON (7News) — A U.S. Park Police (USPP) officer in the National Mall was taken by helicopter to a local hospital around noon Wednesday after being reportedly hit by a vehicle fleeing a traffic stop, according to agency officials.
Officials said the officer was struck by a vehicle fleeing a traffic stop, resulting in a medevac between Jefferson Drive, Southwest, and Madison Drive, Northwest near 12th Street.

The officer is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
As of 5 p.m. Wednesday, no arrests have been made and a suspect has not yet been identified. Anyone with information on the suspect vehicle or the incident is asked to contact USPP at 202-610-7505.
