Berks coronavirus - COVID-19 website

READING, Pa. - Berks County is making use of a new tool in its efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19.

The county on Friday unveiled a new website -- Do Your Part -- Stop the Spread, giving an online presence to the public awareness campaign that the county commissioners launched last week.

The website contains resources for businesses and residents to help them "do their part" to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

The website came at no cost to the county, thanks to the work of local graphic designer Kim Woerle.

"I donated my services because I love Berks County and the people in our community," Woerle said. "I want to inspire everyone to stay safe and do their part to keep everyone safe."

The website launch came on the same day that the county's death toll rose to 71, with 13 new COVID-19 deaths being reported by the coroner.

As of Friday afternoon, Berks had 1,537 positive cases of the coronavirus and 3,432 negative cases, according to Pennsylvania health officials.

The county's efforts to stop the spread of the virus also include a COVID-19 call center, which has staff on hand to answer phones and respond to emails seven days a week, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Any Berks resident with questions about the coronavirus can call 610-320-6150 or email COVID@CountyofBerks.com.

Anyone experiencing a medical emergency should call 911; social service questions or needs should be addressed by calling 211.
