"It’s a mess," said Sherri, a driver. "It needs to be fixed. Something needs to be done."

West Valley City Police responded to Friday night's triple fatal crash at the intersection of the Mountain View Corridor and 3500 South.

"There does seem to be an increase, or it seems to happen often," West Valley City Lt. Robert Brinton said.

He was referring to another crash that happened on Feb. 21, in which a couple died after reportedly running a red light at the same intersection.

Officials said that could also be the cause of Friday night’s wreck.

"It does appear that one driver ran a red light, which ended up causing the collision," Lt. Brinton said.

Sherri said she wants the Utah Department of Transportation to take action.

"It could be distracted driving, but they need to look at how they have the arrows going," she said.
