New Bossier Parish Coroner sworn in

BENTON, La. - Dr. Michael Williams was sworn in as the new Bossier Parish coroner Monday in a ceremony at the Bossier Parish Courthouse.

Bossier District Judge Parker Self administered the oath Williams, while his wife and mother held the bible for him.

Williams will replaced Dr. John Chandler as the coroner of Bossier Parish after his 12-year tenure.

For 23 years, Williams has served as the Bossier City medical director for the fire, EMS, and police departments and in the same capacity for Bossier Parish EMS.

He has also served as the medical director for the SWAT teams of Bossier City and the Louisiana State Police. 

He joined the Willis Knighton Bossier team in its opening year of 1996 and is the current attending physician of the Emergency Department.
