Campbellsville University President Joseph Hopkins is spoke on campus following the alleged murder of a student over the weekend. Watch in the player above.It was just before 1 a.m. Saturday when police say 18-year-old Josiah Kilman was found unresponsive in his dorm room. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The coroner says he was strangled. Twenty-one-year-old Charles Escalera was arrested and charged with murder. A school spokesperson says Kilman and Escalera were both Campbellsville University students and on the school's wrestling team.Hours after the crime, on Saturday afternoon, Kentucky State Police received a call about a suspicious person inside a barn in Green County. That's where they found Escalera. He was arrested and charged with Kilman's murder, leaving students on campus in disbelief.“It's not a situation anyone wishes on their family, their parents. No one should have to bury their kid,” said Logan Pisula.“I think the first and foremost feeling was shock and then disappointment for the individual involved,” said Josh Quigley.On Sunday evening, as the university processed their grief, a prayer service was held. University President Joseph Hopkins says Kilman was a part of the school's wrestling team and was a Biblical studies major from Montana. He asked for prayers not only for Kilman, but the entire university.“Our great concern right now is our students in the community,” Hopkins said. “Everyone is wrapping their arms around embracing our students but also our faculty staff and community.”
