LATVIA defender Marcis Oss extraordinarily scored an own goal just 14 SECONDS into his country's friendly against Liechtenstein.

The centre-back, 32, received the ball deep inside his own box as Liechtenstein pressed from the kick-off.

But there was no excuse for what happened next as viewers were left in utter disbelief.

As keeper Pavels Steinbors, 38, moved across his goal to create an angle for the pass, Oss blindly played it without looking where his team-mate was.

And, as Steinbors moved across, the ball simply rolled into an unguarded net.

The ViaplaySports commentator was utterly astonished as he described the incident, saying: "Marcis Oss just playing it back into his own goal.

" Pavels Steinbors was expecting it to come across his own goal... and inside 30 seconds Liechtenstein have a rare goal.

"It would be funny if it almost wasn't so embarrassing for the defender and goalkeeper, not on the same wave length at all."

And football fans were quick to respond with their own brutal comments.

One said: "🤦‍♂️I'd be straight back down the tunnel if I were him; that's shocking 😂."
