Trustco Bank teams up with Red Cross for blood drive in Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (WRGB) — In January, the Red Cross declared an emergency blood shortage, saying it was experienced the lowest number of people giving blood in the last 20 years.

That's why Trustco Bank, located a 6 Metro Park Road in Albany, is teaming up with the American Red Cross to help with a blood drive on Thursday.

"We've partnered with the Red Cross for a number of years now," said JR George, Senior VP of Trustco Bank. "They're a strategic partner of ours in the community obviously it is a great great cause there is a national shortage of blood so this is something we do annually and we wanted to do again this year just to do our part."

Trustco Bank is hosting the blood drive at their Albany location until 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
