KINGMAN, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — A bank robbery suspect is in the hospital, and police are looking for a second suspect after a shooting involving officers in Kingman on Monday morning.

Somebody called 911 about a robbery at the Mission Bank on Hualapai Road and Jackson Street just after 11 a.m. The man had pulled out a gun and stole some cash, but police didn’t say how much. He left the bank with another person in a gray truck.

Police said officers found the truck about two miles away in the area of Kingman Avenue and Dawes Street. When they arrived, the robbery suspect pulled out a gun, and officers opened fire, hitting him multiple times, police said.

He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. No officers were hurt.

The second suspect ran off and hasn’t been found. Police said they don’t have a description of this person. They are considered armed and dangerous.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department is investigating the officer-involved shooting, which is standard protocol.

This is the second law-enforcement-involved shooting in Kingman in the past month and the sixth of the year outside of Maricopa County. Arizona has seen 17 officer-involved shootings in 2024.
