An erratic driving complaint has led to the arrest of a 33-year-old Onalaska woman on drunken driving charges.
Erin K. McKenzie was charged in La Crosse County Circuit Court with felony counts of fourth-offense drunken driving with a passenger under age 16 and fourth-offense operating with a prohibited alcohol content.
According to the criminal complaint, police received a complaint Feb. 29 of an erratic driver leaving Gundersen Health in Onalaska. The complaint says video footage showed her nearly hitting another vehicle.
Police located McKenzie’s vehicle in Holmen, where it reportedly took a choppy left turn. Police continued to follow the vehicle and made a traffic stop on Highway Z. The complaint says McKenzie had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol. She reportedly told police she had consumed wine earlier in the day.

The complaint says at least one passenger under the age of 16 was in the vehicle.
McKenzie submitted to a field sobriety test and reportedly showed multiple signs of intoxication. She agreed to a preliminary breath test and recorded a blood-alcohol level of 0.228.
McKenzie is free on a $5,000 signature bond. She faces a maximum of 12 years in prison if convicted.
