Cape Coral saw a lot of rain this morning, and it seems like the new storm drains are working because there is no evidence of it lingering on the ground in parts of Cape Coral that were flooded."I had to take it to the shop and stuff like that. They told me it was flooded up to the dashboard," Taina Torres, a Cape Coral resident, said.Taina Torres is talking about her car. It was completely flooded in the heavy rain storm that passed through three months ago on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. That wasn't the only one; she says she had two other cars flood as well."We had another friend. She left to drive home, and her car airbags deployed out of nowhere while she was driving. She got into a car accident because the car was flooded," Torres said.Since then, city crews have been hard at work fixing stormwater drains, including ones in this area.
