WATCH | Providing support to families of kidnapping victims

JOHANNESBURG - The Gift of the Givers has come to be seen as the country's saviour in times of crisis.

The organisation is known for for reaching out in multiple ways - helping flood victims across the country, providing aid to war-torn countries and facilitating dialogue in conflict situations.

Towards the end of last year, the foundation assisted in the release of Gerco van Deventer, a South African citizen who was taken hostage in Libya six years ago.
