A Watertown woman was killed and a Pardeeville man was injured in a crash Wednesday morning, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The 22-year-old Watertown woman died at the scene and the 60-year-old Pardeeville man was taken to a hospital after the crash shortly after 7:45 a.m. on Highway 16/60 near O’Connor Road in the town of Elba, Sheriff Dale Schmidt said in a statement.
The initial investigation showed the woman’s vehicle was westbound on Highway 16/60 when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with the man’s eastbound vehicle, about a mile east of Columbus, Schmidt said.

The woman had to be extricated from the vehicle before she was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s injuries were not considered life-threatening injuries, Schmidt said, adding that the drivers were alone in their vehicles.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team.
