A Fair Oaks man said at least two bullets were fired into his apartment from a nearby shooting situation and standoff involving deputies and a suspect on Friday.

“It was pretty crazy,” he said.
Morales said he woke up around 9:30 a.m. after hearing a noise that “hit the door, like almost a rock.”
“I went to check it, and nothing was there,” he said.

He said he went back to sleep, and later, his girlfriend noticed two bullet holes in the wall while getting coffee before work.
About five or 10 minutes later, deputies knocked at their door and asked them to grab a few items they needed and leave.
The couple then heard more shots being fired nearby before taking an Uber to a family member’s house, Morales said.
Their car was parked “in the middle of everything,” so it wasn’t accessible.
A spokesperson for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office told KCRA 3 that deputies responded after 10 a.m. to a report of shots being fired in the 8800 block of Winding Way near Hazel Avenue.
Deputies discovered a bullet hole in a window, and then "an officer-involved shooting ensued," Sgt. Amar Gandhi said.
Gandhi confirmed that deputies fired at the suspect but would not confirm whether the person who fired shots had fired at deputies.
Deputies and the suspect were speaking to each other by phone as the standoff unfolded, Gandhi said.
He confirmed that deputies worked to evacuate people from the apartment complex.
As of 2:15 p.m., no deputies or civilians were hurt as the standoff was continuing.
“It’s pretty scary that something like this would happen,” Morales said.
