Police are investigating a shooting in north Seattle Thursday night that left a man "seriously injured."

According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), the shooting occurred shortly after 11:45 p.m. near North 101st Street and Aurora Avenue North. The location is near Oak Tree Village.

Police said they found multiple shell casings but no victims at the scene. A short time later, though, a 28-year-old man with gunshot wounds "arrived at University of Washington Medical Center where he was driven by an unidentified female," the SPD said. Hospital staff provided aid and police on Friday said the man is in "serious but stable condition."

Police said their investigation revealed the man was shot at the Aurora Avenue North scene.

The SPD said its gun violence unit detectives responded to the scene and are working to determine what led to the shooting. No suspects have been identified, the SPD added.

Police ask anyone with information to call the SPD's violent crimes tip line at 206-233-5000.
