Coronavirus infection rates have gone up in all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester.
Trafford now has the highest infection rate in Greater Manchester, replacing Stockport. The borough recorded a rate of 359.5 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending March 7, according to the latest data from the UK Health Security Agency.
The lowest infection rate is in Rochdale, where the rate is 160.1 cases per 100,000 people.
In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 258.8 cases per 100,000 population. The infection rate in the region is lower than the national average, which is 427.4 cases per 100,000 people.

A total of 7,340 people tested positive for coronavirus across Greater Manchester in the week which ended on March 7. The Greater Manchester weekly total has increased by 2,340 cases compared to the previous week, which means the infection rate was up 47 per cent in the last week.
The infection rate is still lower than the national average in all ten local authorities in Greater Manchester, however.
Hospital admissions
In the week ending on March 06, a total of 335 patients were admitted to Greater Manchester NHS hospitals with Covid-19. That is 27 more than the week before, a rise of nine per cent.
On Tuesday March 08, there were eleven Mechanical Ventilation (MV) beds occupied by Covid patients in Greater Manchester NHS hospitals. That is three fewer than a week earlier.
This is the most recent available data for hospital admissions as the figures for NHS trusts are not updated daily.
Deaths
In the week ending March 7, a total of 19 people died within 28 days of a positive Covid test across Greater Manchester, which is twelve fewer than the week before.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been a total of 909,995 confirmed coronavirus cases in Greater Manchester. There have been 8,794 deaths.
Cases reported in each of the ten boroughs
In Bury , the latest infection rate is 288.9 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases has gone up by 43 per cent.
A total of 551 people tested positive for Covid in Bury over the seven days ending on March 7, which is 165 more than the week before.
There were 1,054 positive tests over the last week in Stockport , which is 386 more than in the previous week.
The week-on-week trend in Stockport is up by 58 per cent and the latest infection rate is 358.3 cases per 100,000 people.
The trend is also up in Oldham where the latest infection rate is 194.8 cases per 100,000 people.
There were 463 cases recorded in Oldham, which is 128 more than the previous week - a rise of 38 per cent.
In Bolton , the number of cases is up by 40 per cent compared to the previous week - leaving the infection rate at 206.1 cases per 100,000 population.
There were 594 positive Covid-19 tests in Bolton in the week ending March 7, which was 170 more than the previous seven days.
Rochdale , which has the lowest infection rate in the region, recorded 358 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending March 7, which is 26 more than the previous seven days.
The coronavirus infection rate in Rochdale is now 160.1 cases per 100,000 people and is up by eight per cent week-on-week.
The trend is up in Tameside , where there were 579 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending March 7, which is 239 more than the previous seven days. That is up by 70 per cent compared to the previous week.
The latest infection rate in Tameside is 254.9 cases per 100,000 people, which is lower than the national average.
In Trafford , there were 854 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending March 7, which is 343 more than the previous seven days.
Trafford has the highest infection rate in the region. The infection rate in Trafford is up slightly compared with the previous day and the week-on-week trend is up by 67 per cent.
Salford saw a total of 653 cases in the week ending March 7, which is 157 more than the previous week. That is a rise of 32 per cent.
In Salford, the most recent coronavirus infection rate is now 248.6 cases per 100,000 people.
The city-borough of Manchester recorded 1,427 coronavirus cases, which is 421 more than in the previous seven days.
The latest infection rate in Manchester is 256.8 cases per 100,000 people and that is up 42 per cent week-on-week.
There was a rise of 61 per cent in cases in Wigan over the week ending March 7, and the infection rate is now 244.0 cases per 100,000 population. Wigan recorded 807 positive Covid-19 tests over the seven-day period, and that is 305 more than the previous week.
