Arsenal and Manchester City learned their Champions League opponents following the culmination of the quarter final draw in Nyon this morning.

Eight teams remained in the competition as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain all remain in addition to Arsenal and Manchester City.

It has been a comfortable journey for Pep Guardiola's side so far as they recorded a perfect record in a group against RB Leipzig, Young Boys and Crvena Zvezda before handily dispatching FC Copenhagen. Their task will not come easy having been drawn against 2022 champions Real Madrid.

After squeezing through to this stage via a penalty shootout win over Porto, Mikel Arteta now has to plan for Bayern Munich. No easy task.

The House of European Football also saw the semi-final drawn on Friday. The quarter-finalists involved in Man City and Arsenal's ties will go on to face each other for a place in the final.

The opposite half of the draw holds plenty of intrigue too. Atletico Madrid welcome Borussia Dortmund to the Wanda Metropolitano in the first leg of their tie while Paris-Saint German take on Barcelona.

Kane's return to London

The former Spurs captain will hope to haunt the Emirates as he faces a Premier League side in London for the first time since departing in the summer.

The forward has already tasted victory against Manchester United this term.

Kane has a record of 14 goals in 19 appearances against Arsenal and settled quickly in Germany despite Bayern's struggles. The 30-year-old has 36 goals in 34 outings and leads the Champions League scoring charts with six efforts so far this term.

Bayern fans banned from Emirates

The Bundesliga champions' faithful have been banned from attending the away leg due to throwing fireworks onto the pitch during the 3-1 win against Lazio earlier on this month.

Reaction

If Arsenal hope for any success they will certainly not have an easy route to make it to Wembley. Both Premier League sides have probably been handed the more difficult half of the draw.

You have to beat the best to be the best however and that is what the Champions League is all about!

Reminder

Quarter-finals will be April 9/10 and the return leg the following week. Specific dates will be released later today.

Mikel or winning the UCL

It meant a lot for us, that was the one trophy that the owners and fans wanted us to win. We'd won everything else and Roman said to stop winning everything else. It was special to win for him.

Champions League nights are so special, as a football player you want to play in these games, you want to lift the trophy. With players on the way out of the club like Drogba, Petr Cech, it was really special.
