SEATTLE — Updated street parking rates are coming to Seattle starting Monday, March 18.
The new rates come as part of Seattle’s regular seasonal adjustments from parking occupancy data in January.
According to the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), the rates are based on recent parking data and will help people more reliably find parking spots near businesses throughout Seattle.
Around half of the parking rates will decrease or remain the same, SDOT said, with the change either increasing or decreasing by $0.50 per hour.
“Parking rates generally increase in times and places where it is currently challenging to find an open parking space and decrease where parking spots are easier to find,” SDOT said.
Event parking rates on streets near the Climate Pledge Arena were also updated.
Street parking rates are scheduled to be updated again in the summer and fall based on the latest seasonal parking data, according to SDOT.
