EL RENO, Oklahoma (KTEN)- The boys large school powerlifting state championships took place in El Reno Friday. Several of our local athletes and teams shined.

Durant was the 5A large school runner-up. Individually, Tucker Dry finished third in the heavyweight division, while Axel Thurman was runner-up in the 198 pound division.

Pauls Valley also came home as runners-up in 3A.

Individually, James Fields, Jarett Norman, and Adrian Gonzalez all came home in fourth in their respective weight classes.

But in 3A, the Sulphur Bulldogs stole the show. They earned their seventh-straight state championship.

The Bulldogs had a day to remember. Noah Riley, Austin Garrett, and Nash Williamson all won individual state championships in their respective weight divisions.

But that's not all. Caden Cole came home as runner up in the 275-pound division while Conner Sullivan was third in the 242-pound weight division.

It has been quite the run for the Bulldogs.

But they weren't the only state champions from Texoma. We had two other individual state champions in our area.

Hudson Hobbs from Plainview took home the title in the 132-pound division while Jason Gleason of Dickson won the 275-pound division. Gleason broke two state records, including his deadlift of 670 pounds.

Congratulations to them and all of our powerlifters who competed out at El Reno.
