A former assistant pastor of an Omaha church has been sentenced to four years and six months in prison after being found guilty of two counts of third-degree sexual assault of a child.
Jeffrey W. Duncan, 63, of Bellevue, was sentenced Monday in Sarpy County District Court. He previously worked as an assistant pastor at Mount Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5529 Leavenworth St.
Duncan was sentenced to three years on the first count and 18 months on the second, with the sentences to be served one after the other. Two counts of intentional child abuse without injury were dismissed by prosecutors.
Duncan must serve a minimum of 27 months, minus credit for time served, before he is eligible for parole. He also was sentenced to 18 months of probation and must complete 60 hours of community service.
According to court documents, Duncan sexually contacted a child age 14 or younger on two occasions, once in Papillion and another time at his Bellevue residence. The assaults took place between Feb. 1 and July 25 in 2023.

Duncan was arrested July 28, 2023, by officers from the Papillion Police Department and was ordered held on 10% of $500,000 bail.
