History meets high-end residence in this 120-year-old building on Queen Anne Hill - Unreal Estate

The building is designated as a historic Seattle landmark. #k5evening

SEATTLE — Along a quaint street on top of Queen Anne Hill sits a stately building steeped in Seattle history.

"This building has a soul, right? It's 120 years old. You just can't find this. There's nothing like this," said Lino Guidero with Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty. "It was built initially as the Sunset Telegraph and Telephone Company Exchange. So the actual switchboard where ladies were connecting phone calls to where they'd go. After 20 years, they sold it to the Masonic Freemasons who got it in the '20s and then held this building for about a century."

The operators and Masons are long gone. Now the building is looking for new landlords to call this place home.

"This historic building has now been reimagined into two luxury residences. So, there's one on the west side, and then another available on the east side. We're on the west unit," said Guidero. "It's got the traditional historic entrance. It's just over 3,300 square feet, three bedrooms, three and a half bath."

"The kitchen is just fantastic. It's just an open floor plan on this level, a massive island made out of quartzite, which is natural stone. Great place for seating. Just a classic look with the finishes. It brings a classic look up to date with a contemporary feeling," said Guidero. "Off the kitchen, you just have this great room and entrance. So, a nice space for dining, big dining room. And then just a very comfortable living room as well. Large picture windows throughout this level. It's beautiful to see all the structural seal, the cross braces, the I-beams."

On the second level, you'll find two bedrooms, including the luxurious primary bedroom.

"It's on the southwest corner of the building so it gets great light. Even taller ceilings, 16 feet. Great walk-in closet," said Guidero. "The ensuite bath in the primary bedroom is just gorgeous. It is Carrara marble, but then kind of the same touches and contemporary subtle luxury feel."

The historic main entrance leads to the west-facing residence in the building. The original brick walls and windows surround the room.

Did we forget to mention the rooftop deck?

"The views from the deck are fantastic. Downtown and the Space Needle are prominent. On a clear day, you'll see Mount Rainier, the Cascades, and Mount Baker," said Guidero. "This building is 45 feet tall. You cannot build a building of that size in this neighborhood."

So, if you're looking for a home that's both historical and high-end, this place answers the call.

"This building speaks for itself. In my opinion, it's one of the most interesting listings in Seattle this year," Guidero said.

The luxury residence is currently listed for $3,749,950.
