If you are nearing the magical Medicare age of 65 you might be just plain scared and overwhelmed with the options. Mail, phone calls and texts threaten life-time late fees if you don’t sign up. There are so many ways to get your Medicare coverage and maybe you don’t even need it until you retire from your job!
Find out what your options are with information only and absolutely no sales or promotions. Mary Loftis, Nebraska State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) counselor, will hold a free informational presentation on pre-Medicare issues on Thursday, March 21. The program will be given at 7 p.m. in the Burt County Courthouse Meeting Room in Tekamah at 111 N. 13th Street. Anyone from any county is welcome to attend.
Topics to be discussed include:
* How and when to apply for Medicare.
* Still planning to work and have work insurance – do you need Medicare now?

Future “New to Medicare” programs will be offered June 20 in Blair and September 19 in Fremont if these dates work better into your life schedule.
