First responders treat 4 people on Bardstown Road for carbon monoxide exposure

According to Louisville Fire (LFD) officials, crews were dispatched to the 3000 block of Bardstown Road at 11:30 a.m. on reports of a possible gas leak.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Four people were treated for carbon monoxide (CO) exposure on Wednesday in the Gardiner Lane neighborhood.

According to Louisville Fire (LFD) officials, crews were dispatched to the 3000 block of Bardstown Road at 11:30 a.m. on reports of a possible gas leak.

When crews arrived, LFD said they found several people outside of the building.

Louisville Metro Emergency Services treated four of them for carbon monoxide exposure, and one of them was transported to the hospital officials said.

Fire crews tested the area and officials said they found high levels of CO inside the building. LG&E arrived on scene and found the leak was coming from an air handling unit on the roof.

LFD said both their fire crew and LG&E controlled the leak and didn't receive anymore CO readings after approximately three hours.
