First responders transport a woman into an ambulance after she was struck by a driver crossing Green Village Road in Madison near the Main Street intersection at about 9:10 p.m. Thursday, April 11.
An 18-year-old woman from Chatham was involved in an accident in Madison at 9:10 p.m. Thursday, April 11 which sent a pedestrian to the hospital.
According to Madison Police Chief John Miscia, the driver, in a 2017 Jeep, was making a left turn off of Main Street onto Green Village Road when the incident occurred. The pedestrian, a 28-year-old woman from West Orange, was walking westward on the crosswalk at the time.
The pedestrian complained of back pain and was transported to Morristown Medical Center, Miscia said. She has since been released.
The Morris County Sheriff’s Office and Madison Police Traffic Safety Unit are investigating the crash, Miscia added, and as of 2 p.m. on Monday, April 15, charges against the driver are pending.
