A recanvas Thursday of votes in the Springville village election affirmed the winners, although the winning margin for one seat narrowed to three votes in a local election with a very high turnout.
Village elections throughout Western New York produced close results and some upsets.
Russel Belscher, who ran on the Building Springville Stronger Party line, was elected trustee with 383 votes, as was Jessica Schuster, of the Revitalize Springville line, who had 313 votes.
Tim Shriver of the Building Springville Stronger Party line came in third with 310 votes and Tyler Sullivan, running on the Revitalize Springville line, had 290.
Kelly Baker was not on the ballot but garnered 135 votes with a write-in campaign.
Village Administrator Liz Melock said 27% of voters in the village took part in the election through in-person, early mail and absentee ballots. It was a record turnout for a trustee election, and more people voted than in the election for mayor two years ago, she said.
