Despite the saying “Everything’s bigger in Texas,” a visit to Austin will show you that this capital city has a small-town feel relative to Toronto, and can be thoroughly explored in just a few days, making it ideal for a quick getaway.

But don’t let Austin’s laid-back nature fool you: It’s developed a reputation as one of America’s coolest cities for good reason. And recently, Expedia ranked Austin second on its list of top trending U.S. destinations for spring — in part because of its location in the upcoming eclipse’s path of totality.
