SEATTLE — A 47-year-old man was injured after a two-vehicle crash in downtown Seattle late Sunday night. One of the vehicles involved crashed into some scaffolding that was set up next to a building.
The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) first tweeted about the crash near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Stewart Street just after 11:40 p.m. Sunday. The crash blocked the east and westbound directions of the roadway for several hours before the westbound lanes reopened just before 3 a.m.
A spokesperson for the Seattle Fire Department said crews responded to the two-vehicle crash and treated a 47-year-old man at the scene. The fire department said the man was in “stable condition: and did not need to be taken to the hospital.
Photos and video from the scene show a black SUV under the scaffolding. The vehicle was still parked under the scaffolding with its hazard lights turned on around 8 a.m.
