Two arrested following shooting near Maui elementary school

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Maui police have arrested two men following a shooting in Wailuku on Monday morning.
Police say a 19- and 20-year-old approached a couple sitting in their car near the Wailuku Elementary School Park at around 3:30 a.m., asking them for drugs and a lighter.
Officials say an argument ensued, and the suspects allegedly pulled out a gun, tried to get in the couple’s car, hit the 19-year-old man with the gun, then shot the 21-year-old woman.
Police later arrested the 19-year-old for attempted murder.
The 20-year-old turned himself in and was arrested for terroristic threatening, officials said.
The woman is expected to recover.
