EUREKA SPRINGS -- The city's transit system will begin offering on-demand service May 3.
The service will only be available from 6-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday from May 3 to Oct. 26, according to a press release from the Eureka Springs Transit System. Riders will need to call 479-253-9572 to schedule a pickup, and the service is first come, first served. Reservations will not be taken.
The fare will be $6 per person per ride and will be payable to the driver, the release says. The on-demand service will cover the area of the system's trolley routes and stops.
The system is instituting the on-demand service because of many inquiries about evening transportation, according to the release.
