James Leslie Lattin passed away at his home on March 7th, 2024, at the age of 75. Leslie was born on November 25th, 1948, in Bauxite, Ark., to Annie Lois Jones Lattin and Samuel Deaton Lattin. He was part of a large family and learned the value of hard work at an early age. After his father suffered a stroke, Leslie quit school to support his mother and younger brothers. He was a hard worker and had a variety of skills, including gardening, automobile repair, and fixing anything that was broken. If he wasn't teasing or joking around with you, it meant he didn't like you. Leslie's career included working at Arkansas Face & Veneer, AMF Bicycle Factory, and University Plaza Shopping Center, where he served as the manager for many years. After the property was purchased by UALR, he continued to work there until he retired on November 2nd, 2017. Leslie was a devoted father and grandfather. He shared his love for hunting, guns, horses, muscle cars, motorcycles, and ATVs with his daughters and grandchildren. Aside from his hobbies, Leslie spent time helping family and friends, in any way possible. He is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and two brothers. He leaves behind his wife of over 54 years, Rebecca Ann Baker Lattin; two daughters, Nikki (Michael), and Miranda; two granddaughters Breanna and Hunter, and a grandson Brodie. He also leaves behind two sisters, and five brothers. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be at Pinecrest Funeral Home & Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Friday, March 15, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral will be on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at noon.
