MT. MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) - Five Mt. Morris Township firefighters were involved in a crash Wednesday morning along I-75.
Mt. Morris Township Fire Chief Scott Hillerman said four of the firefighters were treated and released. The fifth firefighter had a minor head injury and is being kept at the hospital for observation.Â
Mt. Morris Township firefighters were responding to an injury accident when the crash occurred. Chief Hillerman says the crash happened as a result of slippery roads. A vehicle on the freeway lost control and struck the fire truck. The truck then hit the median wall and then rolled over. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
In a Facebook post, the Mt. Morris Township Fire Department says all firefighters involved suffered some "knocks" but are OK. They appreciate everyone's prayers, and they wish the firefighters and their families well.
