Rafael Leao is in the spotlight after Milan’s 1-0 loss against Roma in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday.

The 24-year-old was booed by part of the San Siro crowd when he was subbed off at minute 87, but both Gazzetta on page 6 and Tuttosport claim ultras in Curva Sud had a different reaction as they tried to support their star by chanting his name.

Leao was hurt by Milan fans’ boos

Nevertheless, the Portuguese forward was hurt by criticism from some Rossoneri supporters and was so irritable that he argued with a journalist inside the mixed zone after the final whistle. According to Tuttosport, a ‘misunderstanding’ mixed with Leao’s bad mood led to the confrontation between the striker and the reporter.

Gazzetta reports Leao lost possession 11 times against Roma and finished the game with no successful dribbles and zero shots on target.
