Cajun Fest moving to indoors location

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Downtown Wichita Falls Development’s has announced it will move its Cajun Fest indoors this weekend.

The 16th annual fundraising event will now be held in the J.S. Bridwell Ag Center on Saturday, April 20 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Ag Center is on 11 N Burnett Street in Wichita Falls.

Though the location is different, the event will still feature Cajun flavors, live music and a family friendly environment.

Tickets cost $7 in advance of the event or $10 at the gate. Kids aged 12 and under enter the fest free. Buy tickets online here.

“Our efforts are always centered around providing the best experience for our patrons and the best outcome for not only our small business vendors but our nonprofit organization. Our nonprofit relies on support from citizens and visitors alike to continue to fulfill our mission of downtown revitalization and to meet our fundraising goals. Please join us this Saturday to enjoy the best Cajun Fest has to offer and to support Downtown Development as a local nonprofit,” Jana Schmader, executive director, said.

Attendees can anticipate crawfish, gumbo, jambalaya, étouffée, roasted corn, funnel cakes and more from a variety of food vendors.

The event will be accompanied by music blending traditional Cajun/Creole and other influences from Poisson Rouge. Hirschi and Old High jazz bands, Low Expectations, Hazel and Shasta and the Ranch Rockers will also play throughout the event.

Kids under 12 years old will be able to explore a dedicated kids area featuring games, inflatables and showcases on family fun.
