Enterprise police possibly searching for murdered woman’s body
ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) - Police are searching an area in Enterprise possibly for the body of Ayanna Smith, a 26-year-old woman murdered in 2017.
Smith’s boyfriend, Malcolm Hunter, was convicted in 2018, even though her body was missing.
Enterprise Police officials originally would not comment on Hunter or what appears to be an ongoing investigation in an attempt to find the remains, but on Friday afternoon Captain Billy Haglund released the following statement:
Coffee County District Attorney James Tarbox also would not comment.
A jury found Hunter guilty of Smith’s murder after prosecutors said Hunter not only killed his girlfriend but drove around with her body while telling a friend he would cut her up in small pieces and feed her to alligators.
News4 confirmed that authorities brought Hunter from prison to Coffee County this week.
