Early this morning, Sonoma County sheriff's deputies descended on a Rohnert Park residence following a report of a suspected home burglary. Upon their arrival, deputies were greeted by the sight of a vehicle suspiciously parked outside the home's perimeter.

A press release from the Sonoma Sheriff's Office detailed that as officers scoured the property, they heard the distinct sound of a car igniting within the garage. Reinforcements promptly arrived, and after issuing a call to the suspects to surrender, two males emerged from within and were swiftly apprehended. Each was found in possession of tools commonly used for burglary and property identified as belonging to the homeowners, which led to their arrest on burglary and related offenses.

During the search of the property, officers encountered an unexpected find—a live snake was located in the trunk of an opened car inside the garage. The detail adds an unusual twist to what was otherwise a standard response to a residential burglary.

The incident, which unfolded in the quiet of a residential area, has led to the capture of the two suspects, who are now facing serious charges. Their identities have not been released pending further investigation but they are currently being held at the county jail.
