RICHMOND, Va. (WDBJ) - UPDATE: A 15-year-old girl reported missing out of Henrico County has been found safe, according to Virginia State Police. The AMBER Alert has been canceled for Ronique Channel Poteat.

Her alleged abductor, Tyrell Ashley Davenport, remains at large, according to police.

Original Story: Virginia State Police and the Virginia Missing Children’s Clearinghouse have issued an AMBER Alert on behalf of the Henrico Police Department after a child abduction that occurred April 3, 2024 at 11:10 p.m.

Ronique Channel Poteat is 15 years old and Black with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5′ 4″ and 115 pounds, according to police, and was last reported seen on Newbridge Terrace in Richmond wearing a pink Nike t-shirt with a white swoosh, red boxers, a black bonnet, and Michael Kors glasses. Police say they believe she is in “extreme danger.”

Police say they believe she was abducted by Tyrell Ashley Davenport, 23. He is Black with black hair and brown eyes. He is 6′ 0″ and 145 pounds, and was last reported seen wearing a dark blue zip-up hoodie, dark blue jeans and black Timberland boots. Davenport is the victim’s half brother.

Police said the two may have been in a black 2006 Honda Accord with VA plate KI&ARI. That car has since been found, but the victim and suspect are still being sought.
