Trial begins for deadly 2022 Albany shooting

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The trial for a deadly 2022 shooting is underway in Dougherty County.

Kenneth Ware, 36, was shot and killed at Maple Park on May 3, 2022. Ricky Ta’morris Jackson, 31, was arrested for the murder.

According to the Albany Police Department, the U.S. Marshal Service assisted in taking Jackson into custody.

Jackson was charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.

Jury selection has concluded. Opening statements and evidence is expected to begin at 1:30 p.m.
