ROCKLAND, Maine (WABI) - Rockland Police are asking for information about multiple stolen vehicles and a crash Monday morning.

Around 3 a.m., Rockland Police assisted Thomaston Police with a rollover crash on Old County Road near the town line.

A witness saw several subjects run from the vehicle.

An officer tracked at least one subject to the edge of the Dragon Cement Quarry.

A search turned up nothing.

Police found the vehicle had been stolen from Rockland sometime the night before or early morning, but it hadn’t been reported yet.

Authorities checked the quarry again and found evidence someone did slide or fall, but were stopped from falling the 100 feet into the quarry by some small brush.

They determined that person made it back to Old County Road.

A second vehicle was reported stolen early Monday morning on Old County Road near the Thomaston Line.

That vehicle was recovered in Rockland.

Both stolen vehicles had the keys left inside.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Rockland Police Detective, Sergeant King at MKING@ROCKLANDMAINE.GOV or to send a message on their Facebook page
