A CHAMBERSBURG MAN IS CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL TRESPASS AND POSSESSING A WEAPON ON SCHOOL GROUNDS AFTER STATE POLICE SAY HE TRIED TO POSE AS A STUDENT THAT JAMES BUCHANAN HIGH SCHOOL POLICE SAY 23 YEAR OLD DEVIN JEFFREY REED BOARDED A BUS YESTERDAY MORNING CLAIMING TO BE A NEWLY ENROLLED STUDENT. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE SCHOOL, FACULTY NOTICED HE WAS NOT A STUDENT THERE AND CONTACTED STATE POLICE. A 23-year-old man has been charged after police said he tried to pretend to be a student in a Pennsylvania school district.Pennsylvania State Police said Devin Reed got onto a school bus Wednesday morning after claiming to be a newly-enrolled student at a high school in Mercersburg, near the Pennsylvania-Maryland line.Upon arrival at the school, faculty noticed he was not a student there and contacted state police.Court documents allege Reed confessed to police. Troopers said he told them he was highly intoxicated and decided he would try to pose as a student.Reed had a backpack on him with a handgun, ammunition and several alcoholic beverages, state police said. The items weren't displayed on the bus or at the school, the school district superintendent said, and Reed didn't make any threatening statements.He is charged with criminal trespass and possessing a weapon on school grounds.
