Robert Hayne’s abstract series “Existenc3” will be on display at the Art Academy of Milton, 38 S. Front St., from Saturday to May 10.

MILTON — Art Academy of Milton welcomes abstract painter Robert Haynes as he returns to Pennsylvania with “Existenc3”: a three-part series tackling the delicate and fleeting nature of life on our planet, and even in our universe. The artist will be in attendance for the opening reception on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m.

The public is invited to the reception, where guests can talk with the artist and potentially be inspired. The show runs from Saturday to May 10. The exhibit is presented on the third floor sanctuary with stair-access only. Art Academy of Milton is located at 38 South Front St.

Hayne’s large-scale paintings were created at diverse milestones in his life. They include

“Pillars of Creation,” where reflections and translations of the galaxy inspired by photographs from the Hubble telescope of stars being born.

“We Are All at Risk” features portraits of endangered species highlighting both the beauty and fragility of the natural world.

The “Recovery” section of the series was started after Haynes suffered a stroke the very day the U.S. shut down for the COVID-19 pandemic. He recovered in isolation and started to paint again to see if he even could after losing half his physical capabilities. Haynes has produced more 100 paintings since then.
