Harrisburg officials respond to report of gunshots

HARRISBURG, Ill. -- Officials began an investigation into reports of gunshots on Monday night in Harrisburg. 

Harrisburg Police and Saline County deputies arrived on the scene at the intersection of Granger and Ogara Streets around 7:48. Officials searched the area and spoke to people present at the time of the incident.

Witnesses said they saw multiple men exchanging shots at a home in the 700-block on South Granger Street. After the shots were fired, everyone reportedly ran away from the area.

Officials searched the block on South Granger and took evidence to confirm a shooting occurred. No arrests or reported injuries in relation to this call.

Deputies are continuing to search for specifics on this crime. Anyone with information should call the Saline County Central Dispatch at 618-252-8661.
