People asked to avoid road in Willimantic because of stabbing investigation

WILLIMANTIC, CT (WFSB) - A person was stabbed a number of times in Willimantic, according to police.

The incident happened in an apartment on Vermont Drive on Monday around 5 a.m.

People were asked to avoid the area.

“Upon arrival officers identified a single victim with numerous stab wounds and immediately provided first aid,” Willimantic police said. “Shortly thereafter medical services arrived and transported the victim to the hospital.”

Police said their initial investigation revealed that all parties involved in this incident were known to each other and that it was a targeted attack.

“Multiple witnesses and suspects have been identified, but no one has been arrested or detained yet,” police said. “The suspects fled the scene before officers arrival.”
