THERE’S A SLIM CHANCE OF SOME RAINDROPS HERE IN KANSAS CITY LATE THIS AFTERNOON. IT’S 52 DEGREES RIGHT NOW. A LIGHT JACKET FOR THIS MORNING. TEMPERATURES CLIMBING IN THE UPPER 60S. IN OUR 12 HOUR FORECAST FOR TODAY. SLIM CHANCE OF A FEW SHOWERS AFTER 3:00 THIS AFTERNOON. ABOUT THE TIME THE KIDS GET OUT OF SCHOOL. THEY GOT SOME AFTER SCHOOL PRACTICE. YOU’RE HEADING OUT AFTER WORK THIS EVENING. SMALL UMBRELLA. IT’S NOT GOING TO BE A BIG DEAL WITH THE RAIN. A LOT OF THE RAIN IS GOING TO STAY WELL TO THE EAST OF KANSAS CITY. BUT IF YOU’RE IN MARSHALL, SEDALIA, WARRENSBURG, CLINTON, WARSAW COULD BE A FEW MORE DOWNPOURS THROUGH THE AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING, MAYBE A 10TH OR 2/10 OF AN INCH OF RAIN. YOU SEE THE STEADIER RAIN, THE DARK GREENS, THE YELLOWS THEY NEVER QUITE REACH KANSAS CITY. IN FACT, A LOT OF THAT STAYS EAST OF 65 HIGHWAY INTO CENTRAL AND FAR EASTERN MISSOURI. NO RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER AS WE LOOK AHEAD TO EARLY NEXT WEEK. YOU KNOW WELL ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES, THIS WEEKEND IS GOING TO FEEL LIKE SUMMER, AND THE MOISTURE PROFILES WILL REALLY START TO INCREASE. SO INGREDIENTS NECESSARY FOR SEVERE WEATHER. RIGHT NOW, IT’S JUST A LOWER CHANCE FOR KANSAS CITY. April showers bring...There is a slim chance of a few showers late this afternoon and evening in Kansas City, with a greater chance southeast of the metro across central Missouri. Rainfall amounts will only amount to about 0.1 to 0.15 of an inch. Looking ahead to the weekend, strong south winds will blow very warm and moist air northward across Kansas and Missouri. Highs will climb into the lower and upper 80s on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, providing a definitive summer feeling.The above-normal temperatures and increasing moisture profiles ahead of an approaching area of low pressure will set the stage for thunderstorms Monday through Wednesday. A broad area of favorable ingredients for severe thunderstorms will likely be in place across parts of the Plains and Midwest on Monday. The greatest chance for severe weather is across Oklahoma, with a lower chance for Kansas City, but that could change with future updates.
