WHERE THE CLOUDS AND RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE A LITTLE BIT LONGER. SO WE’VE GOT KIND OF A COOL START TO THIS NEW MONTH, BUT THE MONTH WE JUST FINISHED REALLY WASN’T THAT COOL AT ALL. AVERAGE TEMPERATURE. NOW THAT WE’VE WRAPPED UP MARCH 5TH AND A HALF DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL, REMEMBER BACK AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH WE HAD ALL THOSE HOT, WINDY DAYS, LOTS OF FIRE ISSUES, THAT SORT OF THING? WELL, THE ON ON ON THAT SUBJECT, WE ACTUALLY HAD ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPITATION TO THIS MONTH, THANKS IN PART TO A FEW RAINFALL EVENTS IN THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS. LOOK AT THIS MAP. THIS IS THE RAINFALL OVER THE PAST MONTH COMPARED TO NORMAL. SO GREEN AND BLUE IS ABOVE NORMAL YELLOW AND INTO ORANGISH COLORS. THAT’S BELOW NORMAL. MUCH OF WESTERN IOWA ESPECIALLY THAT BLUE PATCH INTO GREEN COUNTY. A WEEK AGO OR SO, YOU HAD SOME HEAVY, HEAVY RAIN 100 TO 200% OF NORMAL RAINFALL. SO 100 100% WOULD BE NORMAL, 200% WOULD BE TWICE OF NORMAL. SOMETHING WE HAVEN’T HAD VERY MUCH OF. LOOK AT THE LAST 12 MONTHS THIS MONTH, THIS PAST MONTH, ONE OF THE ONLY TWO THAT WAS WETTER THAN NORMAL. JANUARY IS THE OTHER ONE. REMEMBER WHEN WE HAD ALL OF WINT
