Saco & Biddeford Savings beefs up workforce with 5 new hires and a promotion

Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution has made six new hires and promotions to take on roles in a variety of departments. 

Gillian Ballute was hired as vice president and compliance manager. She most recently worked as a compliance manager at Stone Coast Fund Services.

John Ruppert was hired as vice president and information security officer. He has an extensive background in information security and most recently worked as assistant vice president of network security at Bath Savings Institution.

Shane Arnold was hired as a compliance specialist. Arnold graduated from the University of Maine with a bachelor’s degree in finance and political science. Most recently, he was employed as a risk and financial advisory consultant at Deloitte and Touche LLP.

Jackson Cust was hired as a customer relationship officer at the Scarborough branch. He most recently worked as a financial advisor at Means Wealth Management.

Jeannie Stanhope has been hired as the executive assistant to the CEO and president. Stanhope previously held the role of executive assistant within the insurance industry and has been in banking for the past five years. Most recently, She was employed at Bangor Savings Bank as a consumer bank branch manager.

Sarah Gonneville has been promoted to assistant vice president and retail operations manager. She joined the South Portland bank in 2012 as a teller and over the years has risen to more senior roles. In 2019, she was promoted to an assistant vice president.

Saco & Biddeford Savings was No. 12 among Maine-based banks with the largest market share in the 2024 Mainebiz Book of Lists, based on $5.3 billion in assets as of June 30, 2023. 

Founded in 1827, the bank employs 200 people and has branches in Saco, Biddeford, Old Orchard Beach, Portland, Scarborough, South Portland and Westbrook.
