The National Weather Service confirmed an EF2 tornado hit the area of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Thursday evening.The tornado touched down near Mountain Valley in Garland County at 7:57 p.m., according to the NWS. It traveled more than 8 miles, with a width of about 1,000 yards.With wind speeds up to 115 mph, the tornado uprooted trees and snapped wooden utility poles.Many homes were damaged by falling trees in the area. It blew the roof off a building near Montanoso Circle, carrying it 80 yards away.The tornado came on a night of storms that caused damage in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley, and killed three in Ohio.
