Metronet declares St. Joseph as new 'Gigabit City'

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) St. Joseph Mayor John Josendale joined Metronet as they official declared St. Joseph as a 'Gigabit City powered by Metronet'. The declaration event was hosted at the Pony Express Museum. 

Metronet donated $10,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank as a way to showing appreciation for the city of St. Joseph.

"Today we were able to announce St. Joseph as a certified 'Gigabit City powered by Metronet," said Kyle Hamilton Executive Vice President of Construction for Metronet. "So, we've been on a journey to build fiber infrastructure and get customers option in St. Joseph and today marks a huge milestone in that we were able to have 50% of the community connected now. Every day we're switching customers over to Metro net and giving them options with the fastest internet provider in town."
