Snake River Bowl held day one of its annual Idaho Junior Open Tournament Friday.

Competitors, fans and organizers packed the alley where bowlers from 11 different states threw down in an effort to win both bragging rights and scholarship money.

Snake River Bowl owner Justin Studer says there is $13,000 in scholarship money up for grabs. He says the tournament also features lessons and Q & A sessions from professional bowlers.

"We will have about 140 people in here," says Studer. "We'll put the bleachers in and then we'll do a big seminar with them later on. Lindsay Boomershine (is) coming in. She's our raining USBC Queen's Champion, which is one of the biggest titles you can hold."

Day two starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday. More information is available on snakeriverbowl.net.
