A spokesperson for Gwrych Castle told the Journal: "We understand that having firework displays unexpectedly can cause distress. We felt that it was very important to have low noise/silent fireworks and we believe this is the way forward."

Visitors took to the Gwrych Castle Facebook page to praise the event.

One person said: "The low-noise, silent fireworks made such a difference for my son, who has sensory difficulties. He can't fully cope with the normal/loud fireworks at our local display. These were fabulous!"

Another said: "Low noise/silent, like it, wish that was the way forward!!!! For all."

On Bonfire night, the historic site will be mixing silent fireworks with traditional fireworks to create a quieter display. There will be a bonfire on Friday, November 4.

The spokesperson added: "We hope that more organisations do the same, because we believe they can be as effective as traditional ones."

Gwrych Castle hosted ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! during 2021 and 2020.
