A Bella Vista teen is facing charges of first-degree murder and domestic battery after police say his infant child died while he was alone with the child.
Bryce Anderson was arrested on Friday following a monthlong investigation into the child's wellbeing. A probable cause affidavit said police were contacted when they were made aware the child was not breathing on March 4.
The 4-month-old baby was taken to the Mercy Hospital in Rogers and then to the Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
On March 6, police talked to a social worker at the Kansas City Hospital. They said the injuries were indicative of "non-accidental trauma.”
A month later, the child was withdrawn from care and died on April 7.
Police determined Anderson was the only person with access to the child at the time the injuries occurred.
Anderson was arrested on Friday and faces murder and battery charges.
